Why the name "Arura"?
In Tibetan images of the Medicine Buddha (Sangye Menla) the left hand typically holds a blooming arura or myrobalan plant.
Tibetan medicine recognizes three basic types of illness, the root causes of which are the conflicting emotions; passion, aggression, and ignorance. Myrobalan is the only herb in the Tibetan pharmacopoeia that can aid in healing each of these three types of diseases.

I enjoy exploring different routes to health by looking at the person individually and adapting the treatments to the person's needs. It's amazing to see the results when people start listening to their bodies and start being closer to themselves. Each treatment or class given over the last 9 years has been unique and that is why I keep enjoying it so much. Fernando
Background
I ran my own massage practice in Leeds from 2000 until I moved to London in 2002. I continued giving treatments from home while I was studying the 2-year yoga teacher training at the Satyananda School of Yoga in South London.
Once qualified, I started teaching yoga in Brixton. Besides drop-in classes, I worked with people living with HIV and on a one-to-one basis with people with different conditions such as difficult breathing, stress disorders, and transgender post-operation, to mention a few.
In 2005 I became interested in Tibetan Buddhism. This was an important turning point in my life as I decided to explore this path but also to continue my training in yoga and massage in India and Thailand.
From 2006 until summer 2008 I alternated between travelling through Asia and living/working on an organic farm in Essex while continuing teaching yoga and giving treatments.
During my travels I qualified in Thai Massage in Thailand and also shared knowledge and experience with excellent ayurvedic therapists in India. Once back in London I continue developing my skills studying acupressure and oriental medicine.
